Flint, MI, MARCH 22 – This March, Family Promise of Genesee County will celebrate its eighth year helping families in our community. FPGCs 'birthday' is just one day apart from Executive Director, Tiffani Ferrier-Wharry's birthday so it was fitting to have the event celebrate both dates. They have invited their volunteers, advocates, and faithful supporters to participate in a Birthday Drive-By. This one-day online and in-person event is to designed to raise funds to "drive" homelessness out of Genesee County.

“We haven't been able to gather in so long - our rotational shelter program is still on pause and we miss not seeing our volunteers! We are hoping to raise $5,000 - to put toward our Stabilization programs," says Development Director Nicole Hoste-Breslin. "Last year we served 547 children in 150 families in all of Genesee County. It is outstanding how far we can make money stretch, even in this crazy economy."

Family Promise of Genesee County is focused on ending homelessness...one family at a time.

If you are a reporter with questions about the Birthday Drive By, please reach out to Tiffani Ferrier-Wharry at info@familypromiseofgc.org.

About Family Promise of Genesee County

Family Promise is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization addressing the crisis of family homelessness in Genesee County. In 2012 a group of individuals came together wanting to help children and families in a housing crisis. Since then, FPGC has provided more than 16,763 nights of safe sleep, 46,572 meals, and served more than 1,229 people, the majority of them children. Currently, 92% of our families who have graduated are still living in stable homes. Through a comprehensive set of solutions involving prevention, shelter, and stabilization, Family Promise empowers families experiencing or who are at-risk of homelessness to reclaim and maintain their independence. We are not just a shelter; we are a holistic solution to ending family homelessness….one family at a time. To learn more about FPGC, visit familypromiseofgc.org.
