At Family Promise of Mid Michigan, we guide families experiencing housing instability—especially those living doubled-up with others—on their journey to permanent, independent housing.

Through personalized case management, budgeting support, and housing navigation, we help families:

• Build income stability and financial readiness

• Save for move-in costs and develop a realistic budget

• Overcome housing barriers like credit or rental history

• Apply for rental assistance and locate affordable housing

• Maintain housing through long-term support

LIFT:

Transitional Housing with a Path Forward

Our LIFT (Living Independently for Tomorrow) program provides transitional housing through a master leasing model. We lease apartments and sublease them to families transitioning from doubled-up living. This gives families a stable place to live while they:

• Continue working on employment and financial goals

• Build rental history in their name

• Receive supportive services that prepare them for permanent housing

LIFT bridges the gap between homelessness and true independence—empowering families to lift themselves into a brighter, more stable future.
