FAMILY PROMISE OF GENESEE COUNTY ANNOUNCES REBRANDING TO FAMILY PROMISE OF MID MICHIGAN

[FLINT, MI-January 9, 2024] – To better reflect its expanded service area into the Lapeer Community and commitment to addressing homelessness in the broader region, Family Promise of Genesee County is proud to announce its official name change to Family Promise of Mid Michigan.

This rebranding comes at a pivotal moment for the organization as it continues to grow and evolve to meet the changing needs of the community. The decision to adopt the new name is rooted in a desire to more accurately represent Family Promise's comprehensive support and services to families experiencing homelessness throughout communities in Mid Michigan.

Family Promise of Mid Michigan will continue its mission to empower families to achieve lasting independence by offering prevention, shelter diversion, emergency shelter, life skill development, and other support services. The organization remains dedicated to its core values of compassion, dignity, and community, ensuring that families facing homelessness receive the assistance they need to regain stability and self-sufficiency.

"The decision to update our name to Family Promise of Mid Michigan is a significant step forward for our organization," said [Tiffani Ferrier-Wharry, Executive Director]. "We are excited about the opportunities this change presents to deepen our impact across the region and strengthen our partnerships within the communities we serve. The new name better reflects our commitment to helping families in need throughout Mid Michigan and emphasizes our holistic approach to ending homelessness. Our mission remains the same -- ending homelessness…one family at a time.™"

Family Promise of Mid Michigan invites community members, partners, and supporters to join them in celebrating this exciting chapter in their history. As they transition to the new name, they have also changed the location of their Day Center, essentially the hub of FPMM, which is now located on the 2nd floor of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in the heart of downtown Flint.

The organization is thrilled to announce a Grand Reopening and ribbon-cutting event. Members of the public, local dignitaries, and community partners are invited to attend this joyous event, including remarks from organizational leaders, testimonials from those positively impacted by Family Promise, and an opportunity to tour the new facilities. The celebration will highlight the organization's rich history and showcase its ambitious vision for the future as Family Promise of Mid Michigan continues its mission to provide shelter, meals, and support services to families in need. Join them on January 30, 2024, at the Family Promise of Mid Michigan Day Center, 711 S. Saginaw, Flint, MI, as they cut the ribbon and embark on this exciting new chapter of hope and service.
